In a recent interview with VICE Sports former NBA baller Delonte West sat down to discuss his struggle with bipolar disorder, how he is fighting to get back into the NBA, and his journey as a family man with his new wife and their son Cash.
West gives some insight into his life over the last few years. He discusses how he doesn’t want his son to be ridiculed by his peers in the future because of some of the things that his father has done. In case you forgot, West was rumored to be *ahem* “carrying on” with Lebron James’ mother while the two played together in Cleveland a few years ago.
West says “I didn’t want to name him Delonte West Jr. just because of that. I don’t want my son going to school and people making fun of him for something his Daddy did, “Oh didn’t yo Daddy have sex with LeBron James Mama?’ Man, I don’t want to deal with all that…”
There was also the incident where he was arrested for possession of several firearms while riding on his motorcycle a few years ago. West attributes that incident to being under the influence of the drug Seroquel for his depression
