A new study by a British psychologist claims that the people who are having more sex are also the ones who look a lot younger than they actually are.
The study by Dr. David Weeks says that if you are getting more action, you are likely to look about five to seven years younger than you actually are.
Weeks said that he has spent over 10 years researching the sex lives of thousands of men and women from all walks of life. He says that if you want to take a dip into the fountain of youth, you have to consistently have the ‘crucial factor” of sexual pleasure in your life.
He says that the human growth hormones that are released during the act of intercourse decreases the skin’s ability to wrinkle and harden.
Also, during sex the body releases endorphins which gives the body a “natural high”, similar to what we feel when we take certain pain killers. These endorphins also ease anxiety and help us to get good amounts of sleep according to Weeks.
Lastly, if you can’t make it to the gym Weeks says that you can burn those dreaded calories by knocking some boots! He says that the calories fall off during sexual activity, and the body’s immune system is improved by the chemicals that are released during intercourse.
Weeks says that regular sex is good for older people too. In his study he said “Sexuality is definitely not the prerogative of younger people and nor should it be.”
Weeks backed up his claims with the results of a 1997 heart disease study which found that men who have at least two or more orgasms a week have a 50% lower mortality rate than those who don’t.
Weeks also added “sexual satisfaction is a major contributor to quality of life, ranking at least as high as spiritual or religious commitment and other morale factors, so more positive attitudes towards mature sex should be vigorously promoted.”
So what do you think? Can more sex leave you looking and feeling younger?
