Texas millionaire artist Stanley Marsh 3 was charged with 11 counts of felony child molestation on Wednesday.
The 74-year-old Marsh turned himself into authorities after an arrest warrant accusing him of molesting to teens in 2010 was issued. This arrest came after several other lawsuits were filed against him for paying 10 teens for various sex acts.
The criminal complaint filed against Marsh says that he forced the teenagers to masturbate and perform oral sex on several occasions in 2010. Authorities charged him with six counts of child sexual assault and five counts of sexual performance by a child.
Marsh’s attorney’s maintain their client’s innocence and say that the accusers waited until Marsh had a massive stroke and hatched up a plan to “become multimillionaires”
Attorneys for Marsh issued a statement that said “The investigation into the group’s claims is far from complete. There should be no premature rush to judgment. Stanley Marsh 3 is not guilty of the group’s allegations, and will fight as vigorously as his declining health permits.”
According to the six lawsuits that have been filed, Marsh paid two teenage boys (Ages 15 and 16) for sex and provided them with drugs and alcohol. He also allegedly bought one of the boys two cars, and paid him several lump sums of money.
This isn’t Marsh’s first brush with pedophilia. Back in 1996 he was indicted on child indecency charges that were eventually dismissed. He also settled out of court with a youth who claimed that he was abused by Marsh that same year.
There were also four lawsuits filed in 2001 that claimed Marsh was involved in inappropriate sex acts with teens. Those lawsuits were settled out of court and Marsh apologized publicly.
